Wolfang Lassl
Biography
Wolfgang Lassl is the founder and managing partner of the Qwinnt Management Institute (Austria) and a member of the leadership team of the Global Peter Drucker Forum. He works as a management consultant, author, and researcher specializing in strategy, organizational transformation processes, and leadership. Wolfgang Lassl advises organizations in the private, public, and non-profit sector. He has published a series of three books on the VSM (The Viability of Organizations, published by Springer Nature). He holds a Master’s degree in Theology and International Relations (as a Fulbright scholar), and has worked and lived in Western Europe, North America, and South Africa.

From Values to Organizational Practice - the Contribution of the VSM to value-oriented leadership in the age of digitalization
New technologies create ambivalence. In these times of upheaval, values and ethics are needed as stabilizing forces and guides. Building on the VSM, this contribution explores some of the key organizational mechanisms that value-oriented leadership should focus on to ensure that it does not remain abstract but is actually reflected in the concrete actions and decisions of organizations. The VSM hereby reveals its particular strength: offering multi-faceted and detailed insights while preserving an overarching frame of reference. In addition to the organizational dimension of value-oriented leadership, this article derives from the VSM and the underlying Ashby’s Law an ethical imperative as well as guidelines for an ethical decision-making process.
